About the job
For our young deaf son. Flexible hours and shifts available, including weekdays and weekends. Our son is 39 years old, deaf, and has some medical needs. He uses both American Sign Language (ASL) with a limited vocabulary, and picture symbols to communicate with others. He is very social and chatty and loves people and going for walks and rides in the family van. He is small for his age and can walk but uses a wheelchair for the most part. We are seeking a person who can spend time with him doing activities as well as taking care of him. In addition to doing activities with him, time with our son would be spent giving him medicines and feedings, helping him with the bathroom, and doing some light cleaning. Basic conversation-level ASL would be needed for this job. We will train you in everything!
