Seeking a full-time Direct Support Professional for our adult son. Experience working with individuals with non-verbal autism preferred but not required. Familiarity with the Spelling to Communicate protocol is a big plus. Otherwise, a willingness to learn the protocol is very important. You will be helping him become an open communicator one day. In the meantime, he is quite good at communicating his needs using gestures and pictures. He is generally a contented and happy young man. His seizures are medically controlled at this time. You will have your own office adjacent to his main living space. We need the support of a kind, reliable, self-motivated caregiver who can find enjoyment and connection with our son while assisting him with his spelling and his daily activities.
