Seeking a full-time caregiver (DSP) in the Beaverton/Tigard area for our 28-year-old son. Experience working with individuals with non-verbal autism preferred but not required. Familiarity with the Spelling to Communicate protocol (S2C) is a big plus, or a willingness to learn the protocol. You will be helping him to become an open communicator for the first time in his life! Until then, he is quite good at communicating his needs using gestures and pictures. He is generally a contented and happy young man. His seizures are medically controlled. You will have your own office adjacent to his main living area. We need the support of a kind, reliable, self-motivated caregiver who can find enjoyment and connection with our son while assisting him with his spelling and his daily activities.
