I am an almost 25-year-old and have a rare neuromuscular disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type2. As patients with SMA do not typically have a large amount of strength, there is not much I can do without assistance. I will need to be transferred via bridal lift, not a machine, as I do not have any core strength or contractures to keep me held up. The carer must be able to lift me a minimum of 9 times a day. Be communicative, flexible in mind and body, as well as being able to entertain one's self if there is a relaxed day. The caregiver needs to be able to lift 95lbs of dead weight that is 4ft 11in tall. Be interested in being able to put me in the pool as well as my standing apparatus.
