In-home caregiving assistance is needed for a disabled teenage female who requires consistent monitoring and assistance. Patient is wheelchair bound and has some difficulty with communication. She has no history of violent outbursts or disruptive behaviors. Expected assistance to be provided to the patient includes, but is not limited to:
-Continuous monitoring
-Assistance with utilizing an iPad for some communication
-Bathing/showering including transfers
-Dressing and undressing
-Brushing teeth/oral care
-Hair/nail care
-Toileting assistance, including transfers and hygiene
-Transfer from chair to bed/chair to toilet/chair to shower chair using pivot transfers
-Assistance with client movement using wheelchair: pushing, pulling, and turning wheelchair of 96-pound individual
-Range of motion exercises
-Medication reminders/assistance
-Laundry assistance
-Light house cleaning
-Meal preparation
-Grocery shopping
-Feeding assistance
-Engaging in conversation
-Participating in social activities with possible transportation assistance to parks, events, etc
-Transportation to physician appointments using family vehicle
-Regular communication with family members regarding client status
-G-tube feeding assistance
Hours: 5 hours per day on school days - 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. - schedule may fluctuate, as no caregiving will be needed on non-school days, school cancellations, or if client has acute illness.
Pay Range: $20-25/hr
Requirements: Female only. Previous home caregiving experience preferred. Preference for age between late 20s and early 40s due to transition assistance needs of patient. Applicant should be dependable for care during the stated hours, assertive in providing the patient's assistance, and have a kind personality. Driver's license required.
