My name is Emily. I live in Bloomfield CT with my fiancé and my cat. I'm 25 years old. I went to University and have bachelor degree in psychology. Currently I work remotely as a disability advocate in multiple ways. I have athetoid quadriplegic cerebral palsy. I have a speech impediment and unable to walk. I also have trouble with fine and gross motor skills. I'm a part of GT Independence. I'm looking for a PCA. I am in need of coverage Tuesday night 6pm-730, 8. I need assistance with most ADL's, but other than that, I do my own thing for most of the day. To be honest, this is probably going to be one of the easiest jobs that you will have. Although this is a fairly easy job, I am looking for a trustworthy, reliable, and somewhat physically fit person. Also, you will need some sort of reliable transportation.
Here's what a typical day will look like:
In the morning, you'll come get me out of bed. Take me to the bathroom on the toilet. Give me a shower- wash hair, wash face, wash under arms, brush teeth, turn on shower and I do the rest. Get me dressed. Do my hair (I have longish hair and I like buns!) :) Make a simple breakfast with food that will be in my apartment. I will tell you what to make. You will just need to open the fridge and show me what I have to eat. After you feed me breakfast, you'll need to give me three pills. Set me up on the floor in my work area.
In the afternoon, I typically need to go to the bathroom again. Typically it'll be pee, but you might have to deal with bowel movements too between the hours you are working. Also, I'll need you to make and feed me lunch. Once again, I will tell you what to make. When I don't need anything, I would appreciate it if you cleaned. I will ask to run errands/go places in my power wheelchair during your shift. We will need to walk as I don't have a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
Nighttime I will need to have dinner prepared and fed, given meds, and showered depending on the day.
