About the job
We are a warm and loving family dedicated to fostering growth, independence, and well-being for our disabled son. We are looking for a special person to be a playmate, life mentor, and friend to our 27-year-old special needs son at his home. My son is blind, has developmentally delayed, behavior challenges, and cerebral palsy. Despite all this, he is very active. He is working on walking more. He loves playing with balls. He likes to play basketball and baseball at the local parks. He spent the summer at the community pool and playing BeyBlades. He uses his iPhone to listen to his favorite songs and Useful skills would be: - A deep desire to help individuals with special needs -Energetic, self-motivated, patient, flexible and calm under pressure -Ability to think creatively -Adapt games to individuals' needs and abilities -Some knowledge of ABA therapy for behaviors -Strong swimmer and willing to get in the pool Our location does not have access to public transit. There is only street parking at our house. Applicant needs vehicle that can accommodate a folding wheelchair. No we don't have pets.
