This family is looking for immediate support for their 17-year-old daughter and 13-year-old son. Their son has a formal diagnosis of autism, and a Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) profile. His sister is also diagnosed with autism and is overall self-sufficient. The family is seeking extra help balancing routines and after-school activities, as both children are homeschooled. More specifically, the family would like assistance with tasks like pick-up and drop-off, community outings, and running errands. Currently, the primary focus is on providing care for their 13-year-old son, with occasional support for their 17-year-old daughter. Hours needed are flexible, but Thursday mornings are a must. Family is seeking around 20 - 30 hours per week. Family firmly believes in neurodiverse-affirming practices. While some reinforcement strategies are welcome, ABA practices are generally not preferred. No use of punishing methods or procedures is tolerated. PDA profiles often require that demands be given as choices. This language model is imperative to working with Y specifically. For example, instead of saying "It's time for dinner.", you would say "This might be a good time to eat. Would you like 5 more minutes of play or would you like to start eating now?" Family also prefers to have a trial run before official hiring. Please note that the trial period will last 1 - 2 weeks.
