About the job
Hi! My name is Amanda and I am seeking a part time caregiver/ mothers helper for my son . 7 yrs old and has high functioning autism. He is very smart but struggles socially and behaviorally. He is in school 4 days a week and goes to therapy on Fridays so I only need help after school/therapy M-F and weekends. Sunday would only be occasional afternoons after we get home from church if we need you. a busy boy who loves being outside on our farm! He loves to "work" with daddy. We need someone who can keep him busy and out of trouble! He tends to get fixated on something he wants to do and it's hard to change his mind! We are constantly concerned for his safety and the safety of his 3 siblings. gets a little wild when he's tired or overstimulated. He will throw things and try to hurt his siblings. He is best behaved when he's busy and separate from his siblings. He has a 12 yr old half sister, a 5yr old sister and a 2yr old brother. I would like you to be flexible to help out with younger ones but your primary responsibility will be to care. We are Christian's and we live on a farm! You'll need to be okay with playing outside and getting dirty! We have 3 barn cats and one morkie dog. Our dog is very friendly. I'm looking for someone who enjoys children and understands the challenges of caring for an autistic child. You will need a lot of patience! I will be around most of the time. My husband might be around on the weekends. I would also like you to pick up M-TH from school as he goes to a different school than my girls do.
