We are looking for a caretaker for our sweet & very friendly 9-year-old daughter with Down Syndrome. She is independent, high functioning and active after school. She likes to listen to music, play outside and play pretend. She requires someone with good time management skills, organizational skills, and patience. We need an energetic nanny that will help us accomplish household tasks before they pick her up from school and then drive her to after school activities. We are willing to increase the rate for additional services such as tutoring, laundry, cooking and additional household tasks such as cleaning and organizing. We are in Alexandria, VA 22307. Ideal schedule would be 12pm-6 p.m. We are flexible on the start time but we need help through 6 p.m. Our daughter works best with others when they are playful and creative but also know when to be authoritative. She loves to play around and joke but will need to be redirected to her tasks. We hope for the care taker to be organized and good with time management. Our daughter has various activities after school and we expect for her to be on time to her activities. For organization, we hope for your organization and planning skills to be a teaching moment for our daughter. That she can learn skills of organizing her things and planning ahead. We also hope that your organization skills can be applied to the housekeeping tasks. Experience with special needs children of similar age is extremely helpful. Any training that pertains to that as well. Being communicative is important to us. Sometimes our daughter's plans change and we need for them to be able to adjust to new plans. We require for the care taker to have their own reliable car to drive our daughter around. We have a driveway connected to our house where they can park. We have a small 20lb cavapoo dog that is very friendly.
