We are seeking a supportive and understanding individual to work as a part-time "check-in tutor" for a young adult with disabilities. These include neurodivergence/ADHD and physical health disabilities, which lead to challenges with executive functioning, focusing on tasks, and managing time due to brain fog and severe fatigue. We are open to discussing and negotiating both the rate and schedule, which is flexible. The role primarily involves providing virtual accountability and focus support during study or task sessions . This will include helping the student prioritize tasks, checking in every 20 minutes to ask about progress, assisting with refocusing when needed during check-in's, and helping to set short-term goals. The ideal tutor should be patient, understanding, and comfortable working with someone who may sometimes communicate non-traditionally , display neurodivergent traits, or wear tinted glasses during sessions. During sessions, we ask that the tutor keeps their camera on for accountability, though it's okay if you're not always directly in front of the camera as long as the student can see you nearby for support. Off-camera breaks are okay if needed and communicated. Generally, you'll only need to engage actively for a few minutes every 20 minutes, and the rest of the time is flexible for you to do as you wish. We are looking for someone who is: -Patient, flexible, and able to provide positive reinforcement and encouragement. -Comfortable helping with prioritization, focus, and staying on task in a supportive and motivating way. -Open to feedback from both myself and the student (is attending college program), on how to best support them and tailor your approach to their needs. -Ideally experienced in working with individuals who may have physical sensory or communication impairments, or other disabilities that affect focus and task management. If you're interested in providing this type of support, please contact me to discuss the rate and schedule. Thank you!
