We are looking for someone to be interactive and social with our 11-year-old son with cerebral palsy while serving as the secondary caregiver to help his mom.
He is a happy, social, intellectual, cognitively aware 11-year-old boy who requires assistance with transfers that include to and from bed to chair, to and from chair to toilet, to and from chair to furniture. He needs minimal incontinent care as he is on a successful toileting schedule. Some light food preparation may be necessary. While he can independently feed himself most foods, some require assistance, such as food needing to be cut up, and others, such as pudding, may require feeding. He is on a regular diet with no restrictions. No medication administration. His speech is impaired, but he can communicate effectively and efficiently with an iPad.
The ideal candidate would be someone willing to engage with him, eager to establish a close working relationship and provide longevity and continuity of care.
Work hours: There is the ability to do both AM or PM shifts or both. Approximately 15-40 hours/week.
Requirements/experience: 1-2 years experience. Must be non-smoker. Comfortable with friendly dogs.
