We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated caregiver for a 20-year-old special-needs young man. The ideal candidate will provide essential caregiving services, including assistance with showering, feeding via a feeding tube, and spending quality time with him. This role does not require any invasive nursing tasks. Responsibilities: - Assist with daily personal hygiene, including showering and dressing. - Administer feeding through a feeding tube according to established routines and guidelines. - Spend time engaging in activities to ensure a stimulating and supportive environment. - Monitor and ensure the young man's safety and well-being at all times. - Maintain a clean and organized living space, including light housekeeping tasks related to his care. - Communicate effectively with family members and healthcare professionals regarding his needs and any changes in his condition. - Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive atmosphere. Qualifications: - Previous experience in caregiving, particularly with individuals with special needs, is preferred. - Basic knowledge of feeding tube procedures and protocols (training will be provided). - Strong communication skills and the ability to build a trusting relationship with the young man and his family. - Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping others. - Ability to lift and assist with mobility as needed (the young man does not walk). Ceiling lift available. - High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in caregiving or related fields are a plus. - First Aid and CPR certification is desirable. Work Environment: The caregiver will primarily work in the young man's home, ensuring a comfortable and familiar environment. The home is equipped with all necessary equipment, including a ceiling lift, handicap-accessible shower, and elevator, to facilitate caregiving tasks. The work environment is a pleasant, supportive home, providing a nice and collaborative atmosphere.
