We are seeking a compassionate and patient individual to be a travel companion for L, a 21-year-old with Down syndrome. L faces challenges navigating the city independently, and your role will be to ensure her safety and provide support as she engages in daily activities. You will accompany her to classes around the city and back home. The schedule is flexible. Responsibilities: Public Transportation: Help L understand bus and train schedules, navigate routes, and read signs or maps. Traffic Safety: Ensure her safety while walking and crossing streets, offering constant supervision. Requirements: Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude. Experience with individuals with Down syndrome or similar conditions is preferred. Knowledge of NYC's transportation system and traffic safety.
