About the job
This job is very flexible, as far as which days of the week. We need someone to care for our 13-year-old autistic daughter after school until we get home from work. Responsibilities will include getting her off the bus, minimal housework (such as filling the dishwasher or folding laundry), helping our daughter with daily tasks (like washing hands, getting a snack, using the bathroom etc). We would love to find someone to do this 2 or 3 times a week through out the school year, with more hours available in the summer or for school breaks, if you wanted. Our daughter is a happy kid who just needs a little extra help with daily living tasks. She is verbal, but mostly uses her language to get across her wants and needs, she's not one for long talks. She enjoys all things Disney, animals and her iPad! She has a twin brother who will be around most days, but does not need help. We also have a medium size, very friendly, dog. The values most important to us, in relation to our daughter, is respect, We are looking for someone to understand that while she has challenges, she is an awesome person who just needs a bit more help. Ideally we are looking for someone who has worked with autistic kids before. You may park in our driveway.
