About the job
Skills trainer needed to work with a 21-year-old male with developmental disabilities and autism who needs assistance developing his life skills and ADLs at home after school, evenings, or weekends. Duties include taking him outside for walks to engage in appropriate social interactions when walking with others outside and at the park. Assist with self-feeding skills at mealtimes, learning to clean up after eating, dressing skills daily and at bath time, learn toileting skills and hygiene skills of hand washing and grooming, basic self-care activities, picking up after himself, and using his AAC device. Pay rate is $25-$30/hr depending on qualifications. Position is funded by a state agency who will do the hiring, background check and payment. Position starts at approx 6 hours per week with the possibility for more hours when he turns 22.
