About who needs care: She has the beginning stages of dementia and needs supervision. She can take care of hygiene, although she needs reminded to shower. She has recently completed cancer treatment. She has frequent doctor appointments for several chronic conditions. She cannot drive. Shes fairly sedentary, but does like to sit on her porch in fair weather. About the care needs: She presents as better than she is and does not accept the dementia diagnosis, so we would need a caregiver who would realize that she is not a reliable reporter. The family has a care plan that was developed with doctor input, so we would want a caregiver to defer to that. We would want open communication with the caregiver. Ideally, the caregiver would be a companion who would be able to drive her to outings, like church, the store, activities.
