About who needs care: Caregiver Job Overview We are seeking part-time caregiving assistance for my father, who has Alzheimers. His wife is recovering from a broken hip and will be out for several weeks, and my father needs 24/7 care during this time. While he is able to take care of himself and engage in normal conversation, he does struggle with memory retention and will often repeat questions. The primary responsibility is ensuring his safety and providing occasional assistance with tasks such as using the microwave, making coffee, and gently redirecting him when he engages in activities that are no longer safe. Were looking for someone who can fill in shifts with flexible scheduling, including potentially covering a 48-hour shift, which would allow me to attend to my own home responsibilities. The position offers $200 per 24-hour shift, and you would have access to a guest bedroom where you can sleep. The house is equipped with door alarms for safety in case he wanders at night, but he typically sleeps well and wakes up on his own. His morning routine is completely self-directed; he easily spends an hour getting dressed and making his bed. He can prepare his own easy cereal breakfast with verbal cues, after which he can engage in activities such as brain games, watching TV, puzzles, or taking a drive to visit his wife in rehab.
