About who needs care: No underlying conditions. Lonely, 88-year-old mother would like to meet other people her age, maybe take to a scheduled Adult Day Care for a couple of hours. Check out books at the library. Talk about the what the story line is and characters. Ginny has Dementia, but very intelligent, and loves to read historical novels. Take a trip to Barnes and Noble, pick out some $1-$5 books, have a coffee. In better weather take a walk around the block, or sit on the deck and chat. Afternoon is best. Saturday, it would be great if my husband and I could have about 4 hours with each other, not every Saturday is necessary. Ginny takes care of her own hygiene, and has meals to choose from to microwave or a sandwich. A treat would be coffee and cookies. About the care needs: Listening to old stories, of course! Ginny is a Veteran of the Air Force and loves to share about her life experiences. She has lived alone for decades, so being a good listener, be humorous, she'll want to hear about your interests, but will often cut in with a story she remembered.
