About who needs care: I'm looking for a part time caregiver for my mother. She had brain cancer 10 years ago and has lasting brain damage that makes her dizzy and contributes to falls which have made her weak. She is quirky and silly and incredibly kind-hearted. Her favorite activities these days are feeding the birds and squirrels on her front porch and watching movies. She used to be a film maker, a writer, and a thrower of fabulous parties. I'm ideally looking for someone who could come by in the morning (10-12) and in the evening (7-9) to check in on her, possibly help her in or out of bed, and see if she needs anything else. I also understand this could be inconvenient for many so I'm open to something more like 11am-3 p.m. on the weekends and maybe Wednesday. Generally she can get in and out of bed by herself but sometimes she needs help. Her needs aren't that high but she needs more support than she currently has. About the care needs: I'm looking for someone who is warm and fun and loves a good laugh. You don't need any special skills other than a good head on your shoulders and enough physical fitness to assist a tall woman out of bed from time to time. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and mobility assistance.
