About who needs care: My parent is a 68-year-old professional taking time away from her practice to focus on co-occurring health issues. She is known in her community as an organizer and something of an activist. She has worked as an LCSW (with various specialties) for over 35 years. This position requires an understanding of long-covid and a willingness to be in dialogue about safety measures. Work will begin in the afternoon in her home, tackling either work projects (organizing, filing, shredding, bookkeeping) or household tasks (cleaning, light meal prep, organizing rooms, sorting things for donation). She has a green-cheek conure that she treats like royalty, a candidate with pet experience and comfort around birds is a must. About the care needs:Someone who can be mindful of her desire for autonomy while holding a firm line around tasks that are physically unsafe for her. She takes a lot of spills as a result of some coordination issues related to long-covid. You don't need a background in healthcare for this position but CPR and/or first aid training would be a plus. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and mobility assistance.
