About who needs care: Very little of his own mobility. 77 years old. Had a neck surgery 18 months ago that he never recovered from. He can't pick up things well because he's lost feeling in his finger tips. He has two artificial hips which is also something that impedes his mobility. He is currently in a hospital bed at his home most of the time unless a family ember comes over to help him into a lift chair for a few hours. My mother tries her best to do what she can for him but it is too hard for her to do most stuff for him that he needs. His interests are drag racing, cars, science and history channel, jokes. About the care needs: My dad like things a particular way so the ideal person would need to be understanding about how he likes things even if they seem a bit inefficient. He's particular about how his things are laid out and what the process is to do something. He needs to here vocal communication from someone as they go through each step of a process i.e. when going through the process of moving him. They would need to be patient with his speech as it's hard for him and slow to get the right words out sometimes. The ideal person would need to be able to help my dad up with a gait belt and a walker guide him into a lift chair and then back into the bed.
