About who needs care: He is almost 85, is getting dementia mostly apparent by episodes of paranoia, and has difficulty with a venous ulcer on his right leg. For this he will have an operation on 7/11 in Bellingham. Due to the paranoia he is suspicious of family members who have attempted to help but get accused of misdeeds. He will at the very least need transportation from his home in Anacortes to the hospital in Bellingham for the operation. He will probably need more care after that, but we're starting with getting him to the hospital, since it isn't advisable for family members to help anymore.
About the care needs: The caregiver must have some level of sophistication and be kind and caring, of course. The patient is from Germany, has a PhD in physics and is very intelligent, has high standards for cleanliness and tidiness.
Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
