About who needs care: Joseph has heart failure which limits his mobility and affects his balance. He sits in his chair during the day unless we have an appointment. He mainly needs help dressing & hygiene, which entails weaving his suprapubic catheter through his pants leg. He also sometimes needs prompting with tasks, and reminders for medications etc. He loves reading, watching TV, and spending time with family. About the care needs: His granddaughter lives in the home and has previously been his full-time IP. We're hoping to get someone else in place he feels comfortable with or for when she needs a break/ is wanting to work less hours. He is quiet, thoughtful, and kind. He has a very easygoing personality, and is a total trooper when it comes to his health. He focuses on family & his interests & chooses not to focus on his limitations. He is Catholic, so someone who shares those values would be great but not required by any means. He's not a big talker but is a great listener so we don't have a specific personality-type in mind, but its important for us to find the right fit & someone he feels comfortable with. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
