Hands-on Care Needed For My Mother In Rutland

About who needs care: My mom just turned 60 in June and was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's in December 2021. She recently moved in with my partner and I, which has been going really well! We're hoping to have someone come in 1-2 times per week to be with her during the day since we both work full time. We're willing to work with you on figuring out what days/hours work best for everyone as long as it can be a consistent/reliable schedule. A little about my mom: She is incredibly kind hearted, easy going, and full of joy. She loves to go for walks around town or in nature, paint her nails/get them done, watch NCIS and other similar shows, and do household tasks. She likes to move her body and doesn't enjoy sitting and watching TV for the whole day as she gets restless. She lifts light weights here and has previously had an exercise bike that she enjoyed riding (we're working on getting her one to have here). She worked with children and families for over 35 years and still has the same love and joy for kids to this day. What would a typical day look like? Ideally, I would already have her up and ready for the day in the morning before I leave for work. When you arrive she might be watching the news or television and you could transition to an activity such as going for a walk, coloring, etc. from there. She LOVES helping with household chores, so supporting her in contributing to household tasks would be awesome for her. She sometimes helps me sweep, rake leaves, vacuum, or wipe down the counters. She also enjoys going out for lunch or to shop at TJmaxx. It'll really just be filling the day with activities she'll enjoy to keep her busy and engaged, although she also loves watching a good show or movie too! What things does she need support with? She'll need support dressing for the weather, with food/meals during the day (I can always try to leave leftovers if need be), engagement in activities, transportation, and memory care support. The memory care support might be reminding of the days plans, using the remote for the tv, giving reminders for wiping/eating/etc., and potentially some activities of daily living as the Alzheimer's progress'. About the care needs: The ideal caregiver would have a kind and gentle personality, with experience in memory care. My mom has anxiety with her Alzheimer's, so it's important that the caregiver can be reassuring and positive in a gentle way. It's important that the caregiver be able to be active with her to go on walks around the neighborhood or in easy nature based trails. My mom would also really enjoy simple craft based activities or any fun community outings/events, so it's important that the caregiver also values community engagement. Services needed include: transportation, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
