About who needs care: My brother has suffered cognitive decline from a series of seizures. He's capable of all ADLs independently but needs supervision and companionship. He lives with family but they need breaks. He needs someone to do things with and who can help him engage in activities that give him quality of life. He's entirely independent with ambulation and monitors his own blood sugars and insulin administration. He needs supervision while his wife works. Right now he goes to work with his wife at the restaurant but it's making it difficult for her to focus on work. The restaurant is a shared partnership between his wife and another family member. So they've accommodated him. However, he can get in the way at times. He has diabetes which he self manages, wears cochlear implants and has some lack of executive functioning skills. But otherwise, mainly needs someone to be a companion. About the care needs: Male... someone around the same age who can be a companion to do things with him that he enjoys doing. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
