About the job
Looking for help with my wife, Mon-Wed-Fri evenings, 6 - 10:30, plus two or three overnights until 7 or 8 the next morning. Any combination of these times would be a help. We have quiet evenings with TV, a game or jigsaw puzzle, and then get her ready for the night. During the night she often has a panic attack, and wants someone to sit with her and calm her down, which takes about half an hour. (Too many nights of broken sleep for me, and I'd appreciate a few nights off each week!) She has MS, is in a wheelchair, transfers with a Hoyer, uses supplemental oxygen, and needs hands-on help toileting. She is a warm, friendly, person with a sense of humor; she'll be straightforward with you and wants you to respond the same way. She is a craftsperson/artist who does beautiful textile work. You should be cat-tolerant and a non-smoker.
