About who needs care: My mother has been a victim of a recent stroke/brain bleed. She has some mobility issues and is a fall risk. Doctors say they expect her to improve as time goes on but she is very unhappy in the rehab situation she is in currently. She would likes to be in the comfort of own home but realizes she will be needing help for a while. The ideal would be someone who can make sure she is able to move around the house safely and who can make some meals / snacks while I (her daughter) am at work. This would be in a household with cats, so a cat-friendly person would be best. About the care needs: We would be looking for someone who is quiet and able to entertain themselves. My mother is a reader, so she would spend a lot of time reading or watching television / movies. Someone who is technologically adept would be good. Mom uses tablets and does a lot of library and kindle downloading and occasionally needs help with the tech aspects. She used to cross-stitch and wood finishing, and would probably like to talk about those hobbies even though she has not done them for years. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
