About who needs care: My grandmother is a great lady. She has always been and is still very caring and worried about everyone else's well-being. She is very active for her age and enjoys exercising within the house. I try to have her do most things on her own with supervision and prompting to ensure she keeps her strength and dexterity. Unfortunately, her hearing is very bad at times and also has vision issues, so communicating can be difficult. Writing on a legal pad with large print can often help. I recently had a hospital stay myself which is why I am seeking help for her. Thank you. About the care needs: Her ideal caregiver will be a calm, patient person who's goal is to prevent a person from "going down hill" by exercising with her to keep her strength. Her caregiver should be strong enough themselves to prevent potential falls. While most people may have routines in mind for their patients, we are looking for someone who can conform to her habits and needs. I do not expect a caregiver to come in and be ready to go on day one. I will personally show the caregiver her routine over several days to ensure they, my grandmother, and myself feel comfortable with any and all duties; exercise, meals, showers, etc. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
