About who needs care: Dad has Parkinson's, dementia, needs assistance (with cane) walking, needs assistance bathing, brushing teeth, dressing and using the bathroom, can feed himself but needs help with meal prep. Also help cleaning bathroom, changing sheets and towels, laundry. He's not very active during the day. Mom is bedridden in the same home as well and has her own caregiver, who mostly cares for her. She needs help with being changed, bathed and having food prepared for her. We are exploring care options for both of my parents and ideally would like to find care that can work in shifts to care for them both.
About the care needs: They should be able to give them their medications. I fill the pill containers for both mom and dad and I take my Dad to his doctor's appointments.
There are also stairlifts in the house.
Dad is a kind and gentle guy. He's former law enforcement ans likes history. Mom has the TV going non-stop with political news and cooking shows. She's a good cook and likes to discuss recipes.
Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
