About who needs care: Early-mid stage dementia. Retired nurse. Loves outside, flower-arranging, plants, reading the newspaper, church and chatting. As far as structure of her day goes, she can take care of her own basic needs. Someone just needs to be here to make sure she takes her meds, eats and does not fall. About the care needs: As she is a retired nurse and someone who likes to be in charge, a strong personality but crafty about how and when to use it is important. Enrolling patient in the process is important and letting her think she is in charge works in ones favor. Patient is an outdoor person. We live on a farmette and she loves flowers, gardening and talking about her past life on her farm. Services needed include: transportation, and companionship.
