About who needs care: My father has stage 4 prostate cancer that has metastasized to the spine. He is currently in treatment, but is having a hard time getting around at home, making meals, and taking medicine on time. There is also a lot fear and anxiety when he has to be left alone. About the care needs: My dad would benefit from someone compassionate who can understand the difficult situation he is in. He is a big man, 6 foot 3 inches and around 240 lbs, so he will need someone who can manage helping him to stand up. He is beginning to get frustrated and confused so a patient caregiver is important. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, monitoring medication, some companionship, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance. He would love to have someone help him in the morning as he is waking up, eating breakfast, getting dressed and bathed. He will also benefit from having someone check in on him before he goes to bed and help him with his evening routine as needed. There are no pets in the home.
