About who needs care: Early stage dementia. He has some arthritis in his knees and hands but loves to take walks. He does not want anyone staying overnight at this point. He loves gardening and riding to the store just to get out of the house. He is lonely because he just lost his wife and both sons all in the last 3 years who all used to live in the house with him. First time ever living alone. He was just diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and we need to give that med before he eats at 7 a.m. He gets up a little before 7, bathes, eats, goes to family cemetery to visit graves of family members and is home most of the day. About the care needs: I need someone experienced, understanding and patient with dementia patients. Maybe take him to the store 3 minutes away twice a week. It would be ideal if the person doesnt mind him repeating himself. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
