We need hands-on care to take care of my mother in Ashburn. She is 83 and suffers from mild dementia and emphysema. She had been living fully independently until a recent hospital visit which left her weak and needing oxygen support at times. She is adjusting to this new normal and we're seeking a companion in the late afternoon/evening when she is most lonely and starts to "sunset" and forget things. You would take her for a walk before dinner, eat (or sit while she eats) with her, perhaps work on a puzzle, play a game, etc., and handle medication reminders, assistance with hygiene as needed, and getting her ready for bed before you leave. We listed 3:30-7:30 but would be comfortable shifting this time a bit as needed. We are looking for regular care but recognize that we may need more than one companion to cover 7 days/week.
