About who needs care: She is an only child, so used to being alone. But she's getting weaker, not as safe to walk outside, and getting lonely. Mostly I am looking for a best friend for her. A woman between 30-70. This could be as little as an hour or two each visit, and it could be as little as 2 visits a week. But it could also grow into 4-5 days a week. She has no major health problems, but she started looking and acting a little frail and old after she turned 90. (We should all so lucky!) She has a nice apartment in a safe building, and some meals are provided for her. So the most you have to do is talk, help her feel stable on her feet, keep her company, and encourage her to eat and drink. (She's bad about both of those.) Down the road she might need to try a walker. About the care needs: Easy speech to understand, not too much of an accent. She's from the Midwest (Ohio) and thinks of herself as a simple, plain person. Not fancy or uppity. Politically, no conservatives please. She's very liberal, and watching the news has been very upsetting too her! She's Jewish, but I doubt you have any Jewish caregivers. But it wouldn't hurt if you did. At any rate, please no one very religious and antisemitic (which can go hand in hand). Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
