We are looking for someone who can provide direct services to my mom and indirect support to my dad. My mom is a 72-year-old, 103lb woman, with limited use of most extremities. She uses a walker for regular movement and suffers from both a form of Parkinson's as well as dementia. A broken left arm, which prevents her from most use in that arm. For her, we are looking for a caretaker who can provide a full range of services - from bathing, cleaning, and bathroom Support to ensuring she takes her medicines and eats regularly. She has a high fall risk so she cannot be left unattended as well. As she has dementia, she can't make decisions or remember large moments of time which requires a caretaker to support her. We also looking for someone who can cook for her & who has their own transportation, to take her to and from appointments to coordinate with me when I want to be on the phone with the doctors. As for my dad, at this point, he does not require dedicated support. Rather, we only ask for someone who can sometimes be a companion for him, who can let him enjoy the food that gets cooked, and who can take care of my mom which takes the pressure off of him.
