About who needs care: My mother has rheumatoid arthritis and MS and was recently hospitalized for over a month for bronchitis/pneumonia. She's been weakened by her hospitalization and is now semi bed bound. She's able to turn on her own and sit on the side of the be and feed herself but needs assistance with cleaning as she's incontinent. She's been very tired so she needs quite a bit of rest but her normal baseline is extremely joyful. She exudes love to everyone she meets. She loves traveling and playing spades ! She needs a dose of some joy and a reminder of how beautiful her life is. About the care needs: The ideal caregiver will be patient and gentle. They will be communicative and be able to walk my mother through tasks of turning and cleaning her. They will be able to have some grace for her when shes in pain or when shes frustrated. The ideal caregiver will also gently push her to do her in bed exercises and able to assist her to the side of the bed daily. As she progresses the goal is to be able to get her out of bed to a chair or wheelchair and later down the road to be able to get her walking with her walker again. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
