About who needs care: Mom is in a wheelchair, dad is on oxygen 24/7. They need help with showers preferably on a schedule 1-2 times a week. They need help with meals, mostly dinners. Some laundry and light house cleaning once a week. They usually get up and moving around 11:00 a.m. and dad gets them a light breakfast and then they have a snack around 3:00 and then dinner around 5:00 or 6:00. They don't have much interest in anything except watching TV. Dad likes to get outside for some fresh air daily if weather permits. They take meds twice a day morning/night. We usually keep their pill boxes stocked and have a system we can show somebody if needed. It's getting a little overwhelming for us, so we could use a little help. About the care needs: We need someone who is patient especially with dad, he is partially blind and has a hard time sometimes and gets frustrated easily. He loves to visit and talk and tell his stories. He doesn't always keep his oxygen on like he's supposed to, so he will get tired and not feeling well. Mom gets a little depressed because dad likes to control everything she does and eats, because he wants to take care of her. She just likes to sit and watch TV. We would like someone who can encourage her to get her own snacks and get out of her lounge chair. She is able to go to the bathroom by her self, but struggles if she has an accident. Mom needs help with getting in and out of the shower, but can shower herself once she is in. Dad is able to shower himself, but should be keeping his oxygen on while showering, but he doesn't always keep it on, so someone needs to be there when he showers in case he falls. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
