About who needs care: I am looking for care for my 76-year-old mother. She had a minor stroke this past Friday. She is still mobile, but has difficulty sometimes eating, and moving around. Cognitively she has no deficits. She will be starting in home physical therapy. She currently has some weakness on her left side and needs support getting food ready, getting dressed, getting out of bed, running errands (she will not be able to drive for 30 days) We are hoping this will be a short term necessity, probably 2-3 weeks. About the care needs: Patient, calming but firm. She needs someone who is going to push her to do things on her own and force her to get up and get moving. Mom loves to talk, so someone that is willing to have conversations with her. The caregiver should be willing to driver her to hair appointments and to visit the cemetery, as my dad passed a couple years ago and she visits the cemetery regularly. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
