About who needs care: She has dementia and high blood pressure. She likes to go for a walk every morning between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. She wants to get back into crochet. We just moved into town this past Wednesday. The days are not set in stone just yet. But once I get a routine I'll be able to say for sure. I don't let her cook by herself. Or do any lifting. Her paranoia is really bad right now. She hears people in the attic. Someone screaming outside. And men's voices talking in the other room. She believes our things are going to get stolen when we are out of the house. She needs help starting the shower. And turning on, setting and starting the washer and dryer. But she won't ask for help. Even if I ask if she does she'll say no. She wants to do it like she used to be able to. So I don't even ask anymore I say hey ma, let me help you and take it from her. She either says thank you I couldn't get it or I was doing it I would have gotten it. But she'll give up and will go without. Like drinks with twist caps. She just won't drink anything. im sure I could go on but that's just about the jist of things. About the care needs: She likes to tell her stories of the past. So someone that'll just listen would be great. Going back through those memories keeps her up beat and happy even for just a few minutes. I need someone that isn't afraid to tell her no. Or make her shower or eat. I need someone to be honest with her not just play along with what she hears, even when she argues or even just not say anything. Because she'll believe that it's real and it'll only get worse. She needs a walking buddy. And really just someone to talk to that'll help her keep active. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
