About the job
Seeking hands-on care near Red Oak for my stepson who is 28 and has Down Syndrome. Duties include providing companionship and social interaction, including picking him up from day program in Cedar Hill at 2pm, driving him home, preparing snack, and transitioning him through his activities at home (walking on treadmill, watching tv, doing his dance party). He is quite easy to handle; however, he does not know how to operate a tv remote, his treadmill, or how to prepare his own meals. Additional duties include assisting with personal care if needed, light housework (his laundry and clean up after meal preparation) and preparing dinner at the end of each workday. Preferences for a female caregiver who is a non-smoker and comfortable with pets.
