About who needs care: My mother is a cancer survivor, stemcell transplant patient. We have reoccurring appointments at MD Anderson weekly. She needs help with physical activity and regaining her strength. My mom. has been in and out of the hospital several times since Oct for Flu, upper respiratory, pneumonia, etc. She is being released today (Feb 4) and they drained 1. 5 liters of fluid from her heart. My dad is a Vietnam Vet with COPD and Asthma. He was just in the hospital for the flu and mild pneumonia in the lower left lobe. He is still not breathing well and is very weak. He usually takes care of my mom, but his health is dwindling and we fear he is not physically able. They BOTH need care. Someone to help with cooking, meal prep, ensuring medicines are given correctly, etc. About the care needs: Compassionate, good listener, relatable to people who are from the country and have worked most their lives. Someone who is a Christian! Someone who can cook. My dad is a Vietnam Vet, and can be cranky, so someone who has patience and experience dealing with a war vet. Someone positive and uplifting! Someone who will be dependable and come daily with a great attitude and a servants heart. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
