Hands-on Care Needed For My Mother In Kingwood

About who needs care: Mary has end stage lymphoma cancer and is receiving palliative treatment. She has good days with strength enough to be independent and harder days that she can barely stand. Today she is using a bedside commode, can't walk, needs help standing and is incontinent. Very clear of mind and has an appetite at this time. Can participate in cares and has an extensive understanding of her medications and treatments. Likes watching HGTV and the Food Network primarily. When feeling better, loves to spend time with her grandchildren, cooking and baking. She generally wakes up between 6-8 a.m. Has breakfast early. Needs to be performing PT at least twice a day. Laying down or sitting dependent on her strength that day. She gets very short of breath with activity as well. Lunch and dinner are variable. Usually gets ready for bed around 7:30-9 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays she goes to Methodist for lab work and treatments. Most of the afternoon. About the care needs: Calm energy, informative and able to read queues to add more energy or less energy in the day. Ability to help assist with standing. Can cook (nothing fancy) and perform minor house work tasks. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
