About who needs care: He sits in wheelchair but will use walker to go to the restroom from the living room. He does not have dementia or Alzheimer's. He is very talkative. He had open heart surgery 11/23 he needs to be exercised. He can dress himself but sometimes needs help with a tighter t-shirt pulling it down. He needs to be bathed Tuesday and Friday we have a special walk in bathtub with jets once the tub is filled. It is at this time his bed sheets should be changed and washed. He needs companionship. Non smoker. Cook and prepare his breakfast. Usually reheat leftovers for lunch or prepare him something fresh. Give him his daily meds, that are already set up, after he eats breakfast. If it is a nice morning go outside and talk with him or listen to him. He is a Korean Veteran. He has had an amazing life. His wife of 40 years is in a nursing home with dementia. She lives in Palestine. Vacuum his room and the living area. Sweep kitchen and mop and clean his bathroom as well. His bed needs to be turned down for him daily. He does wear hearing aids and every 3 month we take him to have the filter change in Palestine. I need to be accompanied when I take him. You should be able to load and unload his wheelchair. He is 5'3" and weighs 153lbs. He does enjoy the exercises. You are expected to keep your cell phone on silent. You are here to take care of my Dad and not to be on the cell phone. About the care needs: Someone that can give dad company by talking with him. An extrovert would be good. They need to be able to stay interested in the patient. He may need occasionally help with toileting. This almost never happens but it has where he needs to be helped with a new depend. He uses the restroom not the depends. He is somewhat independent but can no longer be left alone. Hobbies or interest be able to take him to the porch and watch the birds at the feeders. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
