About who needs care: Grandpa has dementia and has just recently lost his wife. There are days when he forgets that she has passed. He has trouble walking and uses a walker, although he should be in a wheelchair as he is a high fall risk and falls at least once to twice a week. He does not think he needs care and often forgets his abilities. Deeply, he is a very sweet man that we love dearly!
About the care needs: Someone who is patient, as he does not do well whatsoever being rushed (this increases his shaking and anxiety and causes him to fall) and someone who knows how to redirect things when he begins to spiral, which typically happens in the evening hours. Someone who can be very soft spoken and still be able to convince him of doing the right things and make him feel as if he is not being "watched" rather cared for or their if he needs them type of feel for him.
Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
