About who needs care: My grandmother has dementia that is advancing. Her short term memory is very poor, and she is becoming more needy in the sense of constantly needing someone around when she is awake. She is not able to be out of the house for more than hour at a time as she starts to get antsy to return home. She wakes the rest of the house at night and sundowns often. My uncle and aunt have tried to care for her, but they are beyond their capacity to care for her. They ideally are looking for someone to provide daily care, assistance with ADLs and company to her during wakeful hours to alleviate some of the stress on the family. My aunt will take care of the cooking, so that care is not needed. About the care needs: Female only. Someone experienced with the elderly with dementia and needing memory care. Someone kind, gentle, patient and respectful. We are a Muslim family and uphold certain religious and cultural practices, so the ideal caregiver will be respectful of that as well. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
