Dad is , but mom has mid-stage dementia, and it's too much for dad to manage alone. We'd like to start slowly so my mom can adjust to having someone new in the house helping out, and then increase to 3 or 4 days a week as she gets more comfortable. The role would be providing companionship, coming up with engaging activities for her, helping redirect her when she gets disoriented, some light housework, and staying with her when my dad needs to step out for errands, business meetings, or lunches with friends. As mom's condition progresses, we'll probably need help with more tasks, so Ideally I would like to find someone who would be comfortable with help feeding, cleaning, and dressing in the future once there is a need for that. They have a friendly miniature labradoodle, but my dad handles his feeding, walking, and grooming.
