About who needs care: Stage 3 COPD, some cognitive decline but not quite dementia or severe. General weakness, forgetfulness and lack of strength to for example stand long in the kitchen. Cannot drive and now her husband is also unable to drive. Loves to crochet, watch movies and talk your ear off. Currently no routine or structure to her day. She tends to stay a lot in her recliner. Recent addition of a small dog which has helped immensely with boredom. About the care needs: Not too strong of a personality. Mom tends to be opinionated and doesn't like being challenged on her opinion. Someone who likes to listen as she will talk nonstop about anything. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping. Assistance with bathing/grooming and bathroom needs.
