About who needs care: My mom lives in Conroe by herself. She is having some short-term memory issues, and she has been diagnosed with depression. She has lost all of her siblings and her parents. I am her only child, but I live in the DFW area. She has a neighbor who checks on her, takes her to the grocery store, and takes her to eat at times. She has no friends and is very lonely. She is now scared to drive (and honestly, with her memory issues, she does not need to be driving). She does not really have hobbies; however, she reads and plays games (when her Wifi works). She loves animals. I thought she might enjoy a class or spending time at a senior center, but she needs to be able to visit it and see what they have to offer. She might like going to a movie every now and then as well. She just needs companionship and someone to get her out of the house to do fun things. Anyone who spends time with her will have to be patient, as she tells the same stories over and over. About the care needs: I forgot to mention, she took some medication years ago that affected her legs. She can walk, but she walks slowly and has a hard time navigating stairs. Services needed include: transportation, and companionship.
