About who needs care: Mom lives with me and my husband. She has mobility issues and sometimes using a wheelchair versus a walker. She has diabetes and renal failure. We do home peritoneal dialysis patient. We would like to train someone to set up evening dialysis. She likes to watch TV, she likes to shop. Our goal would be to have someone work noon to 8 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. We'd like someone to help her bathe, meal prep, give scheduled medications (oral and insulin injections), potentially run errands/shop, encourage her to do some home exercise (chair and standing exercises that her physical therapist has assigned her) and then set up dialysis around 7 p.m. The dialysis set up, once learned, takes about 30 minutes. About the care needs: My mom would like a Spanish-speaker. We would need any caregiver to absolutely be able to speak fluid English, though. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
